Israeli defense officials are closely monitoring tensions between Washington and Tehran amid growing concerns that any U.S. military strike on Iran could trigger a wider regional confrontation.

According to senior sources within the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), military assessments now suggest that Iran’s leadership would carefully deliberate how to respond to an American attack. 

Among the scenarios under review is the possibility that Tehran might seek to pull Israel into the conflict, potentially through missile launches or attacks by its regional proxies.

However, defense officials caution there is no clear indication Iran would immediately target Israel if hostilities break out. 

“While preparations are ongoing for a range of contingencies, the assumption that Iran would strike Israel first is not a certainty,” one senior official said.Israel’s military continues to maintain heightened readiness along its northern and southern fronts, coordinating closely with U.S. counterparts as diplomatic efforts to defuse the crisis continue.
